Five effective face masks

Tomato-lemon mask


1. Take one tomato and crush it into a puree. 
2. Then add two table spoons of lemon juice. 
3. Mix it well and apply on the face and neck. 
4. Leave the mask for twenty minutes and wash off with cold water. 

The mask will help in removing any tan on the skin, leaving it brighter.

Almond mask


1. Take 4 to 5 almonds and soak them in milk overnight. 
2. Next morning, peel the skin of the almonds and make a paste of the two ingredients. 
3. Apply a thin layer of the paste at night and wash it off in the morning. 

This mask can be used every alternate day for a radiating glow on the face.

Turmeric mask


One of the most popular ingredients used in home made masks is turmeric. The medicinal properties of this spice helps in reducing blemishes and maintaining a flawless skin. 

1. To prepare the mask, take 3 table spoons of lemon juice, 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder and mix it well. 
2. Apply on the face on the neck for 20 minutes and then wash it off with water.

Banana-yogurt mask


1. Take a mashed banana and mix well with two table spoons of hung curd and 1 tablespoon of honey. 
2. Make sure that all the ingredients have been mashed properly. 
3. Apply it all over the face and let in dry. 
4. Wash your face after 30 minutes with cold water. 

Use this mask twice a week for baby soft skin.

Oatmeal mask


Our skin needs exfoliation to remain healthy due to the dust and pollution it is exposed to. Exfoliation with this simple scrub can keep the skin fresh and prevent wrinkles. 
1. Take four table spoons of oatmeal and add four crushed almonds. 
2. Mix it well with 1 tbsp of honey and a little milk. 
3. Apply on the face for five minutes and massage gently for 2 to 3 minutes. 
4. Wash off the scrub with lukewarm water.

Face masks for an instant glow

 

Egg and almond mask


If you have dry skin, this face mask is perfect for you. 
1. Beat an egg and mix it with ground almond. 
2. Apply the mixture on your face and neck and leave it on for 20 minutes. 
3. Rinse for best results use at bedtime.

Aloe vera and glycerin mask


1. Take aloe vera gel and mix it with a little glycerin. 
2. Dab this mixture on your face. 
3. Wash off after 15-20 minutes.

Carrot and honey mask


1. Boil 2-3 carrots and mash them completely. 
2. Add 2-3 teaspoons of honey to it. 
3. Apply this mix on your face and neck. 
4. Wash this off after 15 minutes to reveal a radiant skin.

Peach and brandy mask


1. Mash a peach and add a teaspoon of brandy to it. 
2. Apply this paste on your face and neck. 
3. Rinse off after 20 minutes for a luminous skin.

Orange and curd mask


1. Mix a teaspoon of orange juice with 2 teaspoons of curd. 
2. Massage this preparation on your face in a circular motion. 
3. Wash your face with cold water. 
4. Use this mask for a pre-party glow.

3 papaya face masks for glowing skin


Papaya can be extremely good for the skin as it is a rich source of vitamin A and C. It also contains a special enzyme called papain that fades dark spots, blemishes and cures skin impurities.

For dry skin

 

Papaya and honey mask


1. Take 8-10 cubes of raw papaya and mash them. 
2. To this add 1 tsp of milk or malai and 1 tbsp of honey.  
3. Mix to form a smooth paste and apply on your face and neck. 
4. Let it sit for 15-20 minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water.

For oily skin

 

Papaya, banana and cucumber facial mask


1. Blend 1/4th papaya, 1/4th cucumber and half a banana together to form a smooth paste. 
2. Apply this on your face and neck and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. 
3. Rinse with lukewarm water.

For combination skin

 

Papaya and tomato mask


1. Mash 8-10 cubes of papaya and mix it with some tomato pulp to make a smooth paste. 
2. Keep it on for 15 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water.

Yoghurt and watermelon


Fresh, unflavoured yoghurt keeps skin soft and watermelon keeps it cool. Together they are perfect to soothe sunburned skin. 
1. Blend a few medium sized watermelon cubes with a cup of yoghurt. 
2. Use a brush to apply this mixture on your face and other sunburned area. 
3. Wait for 20 minutes and wash off.

Aloe vera and lemon juice


Lemon juice effectively removes grease while adding a fresh fragrance to your skin and aloe vera keeps your skin moisturised. 
1. Whip up a quick face mask by taking 2 tbsp of aloe vera gel and adding 2 tsp of fresh lemon juice into it. Or scrape fresh gel from aloe plant. 
2. Use the mix to cover your face and wash after 20 minutes.

Mint and multani mitti


Because of its cooling properties,mint helps calm irritated skin while multani mitti will sap away excess oil from your skin. 1. Take a bunch of washed mint leaves,grind to a paste. 
2. Take half a cup of multani mitti and add the mint paste to it to form a thin (not too runny) paste. 
3. Apply on the face and neck area and wash when dry.

Cucumber and honey


Your skin will love the cooling effects of cucumber and the moisturising property of honey. 
1. Shred one clean and fresh cucumber and add 1 tbsp of honey into it. 
2. Carefully apply all across the face. 
3. Relax and let the skin soak in the goodness. 
4. Wash off after 30 minutes.

Rose water and sandalwood


Sandalwood had been an age old Indian remedy for cooling skin and bringing a glow to it. Rose water has refreshing quality. 
1. Take 2 tbsp of pure sandalwood powder and make a paste by adding rose water to it.
